교통공학은 여러 공학분야 중에서도 가장 서비스에 근접하고 실용적인 학문이라 생각에 기반하여, 다양한분야의 이론들과 융합하여 궁극의 시너지를 만들어 낼것이라 여겨집니다. 이러한 철학 아래 융복합모빌리티연구실에서는 경제, 정책, 도시와 같은 사회과학을 응용하고, 기계, 전기전자, 에너지, 전산등의 공학분야와 협업하며, 문화, 인류학등의 인문학분야와도 복합연구를 진행하고자 합니다. 특히 이 과정에서 최근 연구의 트렌드인 빅데이터, 인공지능의 기법을 적극활용하는 한편 이러한 기술들이 자율주행이 도입되는 도로환경에서 어떻게 발현되고 접목될 수 있을지도 고민합니다.

"Transportation engineering" is the most practical science. I believe that it will create the ultimate synergy with various fields. Under this philosophy, the Multidisciplinary Mobility Lab intends to apply social sciences(economy, policy, and cities), collaborate with engineering fields(mechanical, electrical and electronic, energy, and computer science), and conduct complex research with humanities(culture and anthropology). With the recent research trend, we are actively utilizing techniques from big data and artificial intelligence. This lab is also contemplating the application of the research and results in a road environment where autonomous driving is introduced.
